Can I ask why you tend to write in prose format even when other people are tagging you with comment format? It can make threads with your characters really jarring to read. Which is a shame because reading other people's stuff is part of the fun of being in a game.
I use prose for action posts with all my characters because that is more or less how I've done all my action posts since... Forever, really. Mostly because I find there's much more to describe, and I can read it clearly that way. (whereas on the phone it's easy for me to slip into comment format because it's only verbal responses.)
I actually have tried to break the habit, but found it not only confusing but difficult to read myself while merely typing- while I am very sorry if it's difficult to read, it's not likely to be any better if the one commenting can't focus on the post... If it helps, I could try to put a conscious effort into using that format should any action posts with Rin or any other muses of yours come up...
Exactly what about it aside from a difference from '[action] words' and 'action "words"' makes it jarring however? Because that is truly the only difference between the two when I play. If I were to force myself to switch formats, the phrasing of actions would not change. :< If it is something other than that small difference however, I can at least try and put a stopper on those things some how.
The reason it's jarring is because when you're reading both people's tags (or going back and reading your own, which I tend to do to remind myself of the mood/pacing/whatever), the format keeps switching, so I guess visually it doesn't flow...? And it makes it harder to get into it. (So yeah, if you did tag me, I'd appreciate it! We haven't yet, but I wouldn't mind, promise c: Rin is the only character I currently have, btw.)
But anyway, I think I understand where you're coming from now. If that's what you need to do to be able to write, then I guess it can't be helped! Thank you for taking the time to answer.
I actually worry a lot about the difference when I thread... But I suppose I got so used to reading through the 'bounce' I didn't realize it so much any more. D||
I'm glad you understand though- and I'll make sure that if I respond with Astral or Fi, I'll keep this in mind for any potential threads we have! ^_^
